Did a bit more then 50km today from Nelson to a little place 9km before Korere.
Included was one looooong winding road leading over a hill with looooots of wind coming towards me...
I normally like wind – and I still do – but being on a bike it can get to the most hated thing on the planet!! Even shouting at it doesn't make that much of a difference :( (tried it several times...)
So I stayed in the middle of my way to St Arnaud (my base camp for the treks of the next days) at a private camping site (I'm not sure if there is any water supply at the campsite I planned to stay at first) that I had completely for myself.
As it was looking like it could start raining during the evening I put the - already built up - tent back in its packaging and decided to just sleep on my thermarest on the veranda in front of the kitchen.
For tomorrow it's only around 46kms left.
The owner here said there weren't any hills left to do, but I'm not convinced as St Arnaud is some 500m higher then my actual position... If the wind is as strong as today that won't be done easily.
greets
